Voice Writing Activity

Step 1:

Unfortunately the proudest moment of my life doesn’t involve my family, my significant others, or my friends but only me and my money. My proudest moment is when I signed the dotted line on my car. I am a car enthusiast, so this purchase was something I was looking forward to since a young age. I purchased a 1996 Acura Integra. This 2 door, nimble machine was one of my “poster cars” as a child. It sat alongside the Acura NSX-R, Nissan GT-R Skyline BNR34, and the Subaru Forester STI. Although to some this seems like an underpowered hunk of metal. I saw a potential project car, one I want to turn into a rocket ship. I have been working with cars, exploring and learning since I was about 4. This car meant so much to me. I worked so hard over the course of 2 years to save up the 10k total this car would cost me. I was so happy that all my hard work paid off. However, my hard work is not over yet. I plan on turning this into my flagship project for my company I am planning on building. I currently study industrial design, and opening my own automotive/ transportation design firm is the goal. The car is still being worked on and I am learning new things along the way. I recently did my first engine swap. I swapped the original B16c to a tuned and turbo charged K24a inline 4 cylinder. I have also started making my own carbon fiber car parts in order to reduce the weight of the already pretty light car. This car is still a work in progress but I still feel accomplished just buying the car. The car is something I show off and turn heads. Here is a photo of the main vision of the first iteration of the widebody race kit:

Alongside with a body style change, paint will shortly follow. I want to paint the car a deep black pearl with silver flakes.  The flakes will give it a glitter-like effect,. When the car is looked at from a certain angle in a certain lighting, the car will shimmer like a river under high noon sun. Racing it and taking it to car shows is also something I do with this car besides just work on it. At the car meets I always make sure she is really clean and sparkling for the car contest judges. The ultimate goal is to get my car into the Montreal car show.Going to car shows and talking to people about my very special car is when i often share with myself a moment of being proud, but most importantly joy.  Although I am proud of buying the car, and all that I have learned along the way, the proudest moment of this whole experience of my life was personal growth. The discipline it took for me to save my money was immense, and this is truly what I admire most about this amazing event.

Step 2:

The proudest moment of my life was when I bought my car.  It was something I had to build up over time to get it where I want it to be. The car was more than just a car to me. I worked really hard to get it and this was proving to myself that I was capable of being disciplined with my money. The car was something I desired for a long time. My 96 Acura Integra was among one of the poster cars from my childhood. To me buying the car also meant fulfilling a child’s dream rather than transportation necessity. The car will be used as the flagship/ promotional piece of my own brand and company I want to build. It would be centered around automotive and transportation design, building and designing accessories for cars. The car was also something I could use as a learning tool. Thus far I learned how to swap an engine, build custom car parts and drive it like a race car. The next step would be to repaint the car. I am choosing to paint it a dep shiny black. One that sparkles in the sunlight. With my ride, I enjoy taking it to the race track and car shows. This is what makes me most proud, showing of my hard earned prized possession to other car lovers, who all share the same pathway and journey as myself. Saving my money was really the proud moment, but sharing my passion for cars with others is equally as amazing.

Step 3:

The most amazing and proud moment of my life, currently 18 years long, was purchasing my 2 door, 235 horsepower, low to the ground, 4 “seater” sports car. My 1996 Acura Integra is a car I have been wanting since I was a young boy. It was up on my wall next to other iconic japanese sports cars of the 90s. I spent 2 summers of working hard overtime, and cutting out my social life to produce the large sum of dollars to complete the transaction of my life time. I saw the car as an empty canvas, waiting to make it my very own Sistine chapel. The car was under powered and weak. To address this very sad issue, I yanked out the old motor, a B16C inline 4 cylinder, to be exact. This engine  put out a whopping 134 horsepower. I swapped it with a beautifully built, K20a. This engine has direct fuel injection, double overhead cams, a Garrett GtX turbo, and a Mishimoto intercooler. This car will be a showstopper when it is finished. I wanted it to be the face of my future company. I want to open a design firm which would build immaculate accessories for the automotive industry…..(10 mins)
